Finally a Clear Statement

As you already know, back on the old website we began corresponding with SUKL (State Institute for Drug Control) about its decisions regarding home treatment. Since we also asked the Ministry of Health and the General Health Insurance Company for their positions, we want to share their responses with you.

First, the letter from the Ministry of Health.

The letter clearly shows that SUKL committed serious errors and its decision was unlawful. The verdict is wrapped in verbose reasoning, but it can be assumed that the most important point is clear -- nothing will change. It is all the more surprising that both directors -- the dismissed one and his temporarily appointed successor -- were still insisting on their position just a few days ago.

We also asked for a statement from the General Health Insurance Company (VZP) director Pavel Horák, about whom people with haemophilia could certainly never complain. It was he who always defended their interests. His response is also quite extensive and not entirely easy for everyone to navigate; the key point can be found at the beginning of the third paragraph.

Hopefully nothing will change and SUKL will proceed correctly when reconsidering the cases. One can only wonder how many people had to deal with the case, and how much energy and costs it entailed.
