Another Gala Evening Is Behind Us

The gala evening of the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior, held on Saturday 12 January 2019 at the Alcron Hotel Prague, has become a wonderful tradition. The event was above all an opportunity for all of us to meet again and enjoy ourselves in pleasant surroundings and festive attire. Moreover, 2019 is a special year for Hemojunior. Michael Beren recalled its eighteen years of service for children with hemophilia. He also took on the role of master of ceremonies and guided us through the entire evening. At the opening, he welcomed the attendees and thanked the sponsors, without whom our organizations could not provide most activities for their members, and greeted their representatives. Thanks were also extended to the physicians and, last but not least, to the management and staff of the Alcron Hotel.

The Wocaties Band played for us once again, providing music for both dancing and listening. The Rehak brothers also prepared a lovely guitar performance, introduced by their father. Except for a bonus song, all pieces performed were part of a competition. Prizes in the form of bottles of wine from Roman Portes's wine shop, who supplied wine for the entire event, were prepared for the first three contestants who guessed the artist and song title. Beer supplied by sponsor Pivovar Luziny, wine, and soft drinks flowed freely. The buffet tables were laden with excellent delicacies from the local chefs. Those who could still move went to dance off the calories on the dance floor. The evening's attendees had a great time at the tables, on the dance floor, and in the foyer. A rich raffle took place during the evening, in which every one of us won interesting prizes. I enjoyed the evening very much and am already looking forward to the next one. At the same time, I would like to add my thanks to Mrs. Katka Altmanova, who once again played the main role in making the event happen, as well as to the chairmen of both organizations, Martin Bohun and Michael Beren.
