Podcast with Veronika Čepeláková
ČSH

Few people know as much about the administration of prophylactic injections as nurse Veronika Čepeláková. Since the early 1990s, when prophylaxis began to become a routine part of hemophilia treatment, she has helped dozens of children and their parents overcome uncertainty and fears about administering injections. She has now shared her experience working with young patients and their families with the listeners of the podcast Na vlastní žíly.
Nurse Veronika Čepeláková has been devoted to caring for children with hemophilia for over thirty years. While in the early years of her career, her work mainly involved treating young hemophilia patients after frequent bleeding episodes, her main task now is to teach children and their parents how to correctly administer prophylaxis.
How responsible and consistent are hemophilia families in adhering to treatment, and how has treatment progressed over the years? How do today's hemophilia camps differ from the first editions? And how much of a help are modern technologies for healthcare professionals in haematology clinics? Veronika Čepeláková discussed all of this and much more with host Michal Bereň in the sixth episode of our hemophilia podcast Na vlastní žíly.
