To Ještěd with Dan

Dear members/supporters/sympathisers of the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior. Come with us to Ještěd!

We would like to invite you all to Liberec on the second weekend of April, so that together with Dan Šimek we can conquer the landmark of the Jizera Mountains, Ještěd. As a continuation and reminder of his ascent of Mont Blanc.

The expedition is planned for Saturday 12 April 2025, just before World Hemophilia Day (17 April). However, you can arrive as early as Friday 11 April 2025 in the late afternoon and stay until Sunday 13 April 2025. Accommodation will be arranged for those coming from near and far. This event is another opportunity for all of us to come together -- in red and carefree, right at the time when we will be commemorating World Hemophilia Day. All members, their families, and other sympathisers are invited. The hike will also be joined by a group from the patient organisation Pacimed, with whom we collaborate on various activities.

If you do not feel up to hiking on foot, there is no need to worry. We also have those with limited mobility in mind and will arrange transport to the summit so they can be with us. The aim is for all of us to meet -- regardless of age or health condition. At the summit, a reward in the form of refreshments will await us at the local restaurant, so we can recharge for the journey back. All of this in premises reserved exclusively for our group. As part of the programme, we would also like to organise a short talk with haematologists from the Liberec haemophilia centre, including a lesson in Nordic Walking pole technique. Besides its benefits, there are also recommendations for when not to do it (so-called contraindications), which a qualified instructor will explain. We will try to have several pairs of poles available on site, which may come in handy for our ascent of Ještěd.

To allow us to continue with preparations, we need to know the interest of participants, including some basic information. For those genuinely interested, we have created a form which we ask you to carefully fill in by 7 February 2025. The event deserves thorough preparation, which takes considerable time. We would like to inform participants interested in accommodation that a co-payment will apply. The preliminary amount was set according to the "Jihlava" model from the intergenerational meeting. It may change depending on the number of guests, but the amounts should not exceed these set values:

• CSH and Hemojunior members CZK 500/night
• non-members CZK 1,000/night
• children of members under 18 free of charge
• children of non-members CZK 500/night
• participants without accommodation pay no additional co-payment

The event is held under the patronage of the Czech Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis, the Czech National Haemophilia Programme, and the Liberec Haemophilia Centre.
