Regular readers of the Society's website and printed Newsletter already know. We have informed several times about the possibility of using home care agencies that can step in when someone is momentarily, or even permanently, unable to self-administer a factor concentrate and has no one around to help. In such cases, a visit from a qualified nurse is a true blessing. More detailed information can be found in this article, or in the information leaflet.

There is therefore plenty of information about the service -- but where to find it, right? Baxter, which has done the most to raise awareness about these agencies and provide their specialised training across all regions, took another step. They compiled a list of all agencies that wanted to, and after training were able to, join the system. Simply open the website http://www.prehledadp.cz and you will have a complete overview of all those involved. A simple filter allows you to select a specific location, tick the option for medicinal products, and you have your answer.

Not everywhere is the network of useful agencies sufficiently dense; in many places the list is quite thin. And right now you have the opportunity to point out such blank spots on the map, and the Society, in cooperation with Baxter, will try to fill them. Simply contact us through the well-known Society channels and let us know where the problem lies, and we will try to find a solution immediately by locating additional agencies. And of course, properly training them, because without the right information from experts, it would not work. Nor could it -- an agency must have the proper certification, and the Czech Hemophilia Society and Baxter will help them obtain it.

Review the list of those operating in your area, and if you come up empty, let us know immediately. You never know when such help might come in handy. Remember that the process of integrating a new agency into the system takes some time, and trying to resolve everything only at the moment when urgent help is needed may not pay off.
