We will celebrate World Hemophilia Day with a hike to Zvičina
ČSH

Following last year's successful hike to Ještěd, we continue the tradition of outdoor gatherings. This year we head to the Krkonoše foothills to climb Zvičina on the occasion of World Hemophilia Day. The event takes place April 10–12, 2026 with accommodation in Velichovky Spa.
Dear members, supporters and friends of the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior,
after last year's successful "Ještěd" hike, we would like to continue this wonderful tradition of outdoor gatherings. We originally planned a hike to Pálava this year, but for organizational reasons we had to change the location. However, we believe we have found an equally attractive alternative.
We cordially invite you to the Krkonoše foothills for a group hike to Zvičina, which will take place on the occasion of World Hemophilia Day.
The tradition of group hikes
Our group hikes carry a symbolic dimension. They follow in the footsteps of Dan Šimek's inspiring ascent of Mont Blanc and are gradually becoming a tradition through which we commemorate World Hemophilia Day actively — through movement, meeting and time spent together.
After last year's gathering on Ještěd, we would like to continue with another hike that will once again bring together members, families and friends of our community.
Where are we heading this year
The destination of this year's gathering will be Zvičina, located in the Krkonoše foothills. At 671 metres, it is the highest peak of the long Zvičina ridge and a crossroads of several hiking trails.
At the very top stands the Rais Hut with a rotating lookout tower, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. On a clear day, you can see Kunětická Hora, the Iron Mountains, Říp, Milešovka, Bezděz or the Jizera Mountains.
Schedule
The gathering is planned for the weekend of Friday 10 April to Sunday 12 April 2026.
The group hike to Zvičina will take place on Saturday 11 April in the morning, giving all participants enough time to arrive and enjoy the whole day together. You can arrive as early as Friday evening and stay until Sunday.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be arranged at Velichovky Spa, well known for its long-standing care of haemophilia patients. The spa offers capacity for approximately 70 guests — first come, first served.
Meals
Breakfast is included in the accommodation price. We are also planning a joint Saturday dinner as an opportunity for informal socialising with spa management and guests from the Hradec Králové haemophilia centre. Friday dinner is not provided — please arrange individually.
Light refreshments will be provided during the hike itself.
A hike for everyone
If you don't feel up to the hike on foot, don't worry. We are also thinking of less mobile participants and will try to arrange transport as close to the summit as possible.
The goal of the whole event is above all to bring us all together — regardless of age or physical fitness.
Registration and fees
To continue with preparations, we need to know participant interest. Please complete the registration form by 23 March 2026 at the latest. Don't delay!
