Minutes of the CSH Council Meeting of February 9, 2013

The CSH Council met in the form of a teleconference. Present: Vladimir Dolejs, Martin Bohun, Vaclav Toth, Petr Grim. Excused: Michal Skorepa. Technical connection difficulties prevented the participation of Jana Kalabova.

The following items were discussed:

  • The EHC congress agency distributed the profit from the Prague congress. The Society received a profit share of CZK 1,492,171.
  • The CSH General Assembly is planned to take place as part of the "Together about Hemophilia" workshop in Vraz near Pisek for all CSH members. Preliminary date for the two-day event - September 2013.
  • V. Dolejs will obtain more detailed information about the venue from P. Salaj
  • M. Bohun will invite speakers from the pain management department and physiotherapists
  • P. Grim will invite speakers from the social services field
  • The program and further details will be discussed by the Council at its next session (expected date March 2013)
  • The elbow CPM device at UHKT (Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion) is sitting unused, while in Hradec Kralove and Brno the CPM devices are already in regular operation.
  • The Society Chairman informed about the problem of a hemophilia patient from the Ostrava HTC who was refused medical care by the Brno CCC center, under which he falls regionally. He was admitted to the care of Bulovka Hospital in Prague under the hematological supervision of UHKT. The CSH Council will address this matter with the CNHP committee.
  • The CSH Council further decided:

    • to reimburse travel expenses for all participants of the rehabilitation stay in Lednice
    • prices for the Summer Hemophilia Camp remain the same this year as in 2012, i.e. hemophilia patients and participants with von Willebrand disease CZK 3,800, others CZK 4,600
    • not to proceed with the newly planned "Together about Hemophilia" exhibition with Bayer. The Council proposes expanding the existing exhibition to other hemophilia treatment centers and using the funds for CSH projects (adult rehabilitation, children's camp, Hemophilia Day)
    • the next issue of the Hemophilia Newsletter is planned for May 2013. The Newsletter will contain more detailed information about the planned Conference and workshop in Vraz near Pisek
    • a discussion on candidates for the CSH Annual Award took place
  • The Bata Canal is a possible venue for this year's Hemophilia Day celebrations. M. Bohun will explore the options, V. Dolejs will discuss possible financing with pharmaceutical companies.
  • Some sections of the CSH website are gradually being filled with English translations.
  • M. Bohun and V. Toth proposed the creation of a CSH secretary position, to be filled by one of the CSH Council members. For discussion at the next Council meeting. Recorded by: M. Bohun
