Minutes of the CSH Council Session 14.4.2016
Minutes of the CSH Council Session on April 14, 2016 in Vraz. Present: M. Bohun, V. Dolejs, J. Kalabova, M. Skorepa, V. Toth. Excused: P. Grim, A. Zidkova
1. M. Bohun reported on the status of preparations for the World Hemophilia Day celebration on April 23 at Loucen Castle in Central Bohemia. 160 participants have registered. Guided tours of the castle, a knight's tournament, and similar activities are prepared. Sponsor Novo Nordisk will cover CZK 100,000, but costs will likely be higher. The Council tasked the Chairman to ask the co-organizing Hemojunior to cover half of the amount exceeding the sponsorship contribution.
2. V. Dolejs reported on the status of preparations for the Prague chapter of World Hemophilia Day celebrations on April 25 at the terrace near the National Theatre. The program is prepared under the direction of the main sponsor, Baxalta. The CSH information stand will be staffed by Petr Slunsky. Related to the celebrations is the campaign to sell small commemorative items; at the Society's suggestion, adjustments were made to the merchandise in favor of practicality, though not all suggestions were incorporated in the final assortment. The Society's efforts to organize a similar event in Brno could not be successfully concluded due to financial reasons.
3. An invitation came from Olomouc for a Patient Day on May 27. The program primarily covers chapters from hemato-oncology, similar to the meeting in Ostrava during the Parizek Days there. V. Dolejs attended and noted that the organizing patient organizations for hemato-oncological diseases deal with a completely different program than CSH. CSH is on a far higher organizational, professional, and social level. The practical benefit of the Society's participation in a similar meeting in Olomouc is zero, but the Council decided to support the efforts at least morally and by encouraging member participation via the website. A decision on personal attendance by a Council member will be made based on time availability next week.
4. The Council decided to transform the traditional printed Newsletter into a simpler bulletin summarizing the most important information from the website. Frequency: semi-annual. The primary goal is to reduce costs, as the main information channel has for some time been the website.
5. M. Skorepa noted that not all the necessary physiotherapists are available yet for the adult rehabilitation stay in Viska. The Council will continue to take all steps to fill the gap.
