Summer Haemophilia Camp 2026

The new head counsellor will be Martin Čajánek with a team of experienced counsellors, and medical supervision will once again be provided by Brno University Hospital under the leadership of doc. MUDr. Jan Blatný, Ph.D. and physiotherapist Mgr. Marie Katzerová.

The Summer Haemophilia Camp is a place where (in addition to classic camp activities) we guide young people with haemophilia towards a more independent life with an emphasis on home treatment, which must be followed to prevent spontaneous bleeding and consequently damage to the joint and musculoskeletal system. This helps prevent the consequences faced by the older generation, who due to insufficient treatment suffer from extensive joint problems and even disability. The rehabilitation camp for children with haemophilia has been organised by the Czech Hemophilia Society for many years and we consider it one of the organisation's key events. Every year, the stay is attended by children with haemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and carriers of these rare bleeding disorders. Participants come from all over the Czech Republic and are happy to return to us. This only confirms the importance and benefit of the event. The stay has proven its worth and helps participants with what matters most -- improving their health and consequently their quality of life. The top priority is the education of children with haemophilia and von Willebrand disease, training in intravenous self-infusion, and individual and group rehabilitation. All this under the guidance of experienced professionals from the ranks of physicians, nurses, and physiotherapists, not only from Brno University Hospital. We consider the educational effect particularly significant, as participants gain a clear understanding of the benefit of medication administration, including intravenous application. They learn this precisely at our camp, where under constant professional supervision of medical staff they are instructed in proper injection technique and medication handling, which is an important component of home treatment.

To fulfil the objectives of this stay, a unique facility is also needed. It is essential for us that the Jasenka Recreation Centre meets all our requirements to the letter: facilities for a treatment room, individual and group physiotherapy, cabins equipped with sanitary facilities, an on-site kitchen, common areas for educational programmes with physicians and physiotherapists. Additionally, a pond, since swimming is one of the most important and most recommended forms of exercise for children, and last but not least, a safe campus environment where we can keep an eye on the children at all times.

Jasenka has become a matter of the heart for us over the years, and thanks to the accommodating and helpful staff, we always happily return and will continue to do so.

The cost per person is CZK 1,100 per day. We note that the facility is reserved exclusively for our group! The Czech Hemophilia Society Board has approved the traditional fee levels:

• CZK 6,000 for participants with haemophilia or von Willebrand disease

• CZK 8,000 for their siblings and friends

The fees are set to give the greatest advantage to participants with haemophilia or von Willebrand disease.

The camp fee includes:

• Accommodation, meals (5 times a day + all-day drinking regime)

• Basic accident insurance

• Transport for trips

• Overall camp operations

If you are interested in attending the camp, do not delay with registration. Children who have completed at least the first year of primary school and are accustomed to independently managing everyday activities may attend the camp; the upper age limit is 18 years. We are not planning group transport from Prague, Brno, or Ostrava in 2026. Each participant arranges their own transport to the camp venue. If your child would like to be accommodated with a specific friend, please note this in the comments section of the application. We will not be able to handle such requests on-site due to time constraints, so please make sure they are recorded in advance. We will do our best to accommodate everyone.
