Intergenerational Meeting 2024 - Jihlava

We invite you to another Jihlava intergenerational meeting, this year already the tenth!

The Czech Hemophilia Society in cooperation with Hemojunior have prepared the 10th edition of our largest annual event, where representatives of all generations of people with hemophilia or von Willebrand disease can meet not only with each other, but also with doctors and other specialists. It is a unique opportunity to gain new information and experience about living with a bleeding disorder. Every year, not only our members but also their families attend the event, allowing sharing truly across our entire community.

The event will take place from 11–13 October 2024, traditionally at the EA Business Hotel in Jihlava. We have prepared a programme packed with information, whether in joint lectures or workshops in smaller groups, where individual topics can be discussed in greater depth. As part of this year's programme, you can look forward to the following speakers and topics:

  • MUDr. Petr Hollý (neurologist) and MUDr. Radomíra Hrdličková (haematologist) — CNS bleeding and ischaemic episodes in people with hemophilia
  • Bc. Daniel Šimek and his presentation about the hemophilia expedition to Mont Blanc
  • Mgr. Pavel Kraus and his lecture and workshop on healthy movement and strength training, not just for people with hemophilia
  • Bc. Michaela Tůmová will focus her lecture and workshop on breast self-examination prevention and blood pressure measurement for men
  • Bc. Lenka Tichá and podoscope examination
  • Mgr. Marie Katzerová and physiotherapy
  • MUDr. Jan Blatný and news in hemophilia treatment. We are also trying to arrange a live connection with a foreign guest — a person with hemophilia who was among the first to undergo gene therapy
  • We are negotiating with an acupuncture specialist for chronic diseases
  • Martin Žídek will share his experiences with cold exposure training
  • News and plans from the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior

Due to the packed schedule of our guests, the lectures will this time be spread across all three days at various times. Not all speakers will stay with us for the entire duration of the event. For example, the medical lecture (P. Hollý and R. Hrdličková) on CNS bleeding and ischaemic episodes in people with hemophilia is planned for Sunday morning, and news in hemophilia treatment (J. Blatný) will be discussed on Saturday evening.

Further topics and speakers are also planned; all participants will receive the exact schedule by email before the event.

A clear benefit of the event is the opportunity to speak with doctors and other specialists outside the clinic setting.

During Saturday morning, a programme will be provided for older children (school-age, younger by arrangement), who will be able to visit the Jihlava museum and underground passages. We are arranging this programme so that parents can attend the professional sessions undisturbed without worrying that their little ones will level the hotel in the meantime. We strongly recommend taking advantage of it. Unfortunately, we no longer have the capacity to arrange childcare for younger children.

You can register by 30 September 2024 using this form.

Participation fees are set as follows: Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior members pay CZK 500/night, non-members CZK 1,000/night, children of members under 18 attend free of charge, children of non-members CZK 500/night. Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior members who will not be staying overnight at the hotel and will only attend the Saturday professional programme pay CZK 200, non-members CZK 400, children of members under 18 attend free, children of non-members pay CZK 200. Please note that for the purposes of this event, only those members who regularly pay their membership fees on time are considered members. The participation fee also includes all-day refreshments. Please send it to the Czech Hemophilia Society account no later than 5 October 2024. If you do not pay by the stated date, your reservation will be cancelled!
