World Hemophilia Day Celebrations With Extraordinary Success
ČSH

The fact that people with hemophilia gather around the world every year around 17 April is a long-standing tradition. However, the Czech Hemophilia Society, its sister organisation Hemojunior, with the support of pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, really hit the mark this time. A gathering was prepared for members and supporters on Saturday, 14 April, at the medieval Fortress Hummer near Prague.
Nearly 150 people gathered here to jointly and informally commemorate a date that worldwide marks an important day. This time, however, there was no talk at all about diseases or difficulties -- everyone simply had fun. From small children to the very grown-up ones.
The medieval fortress itself offers plenty of attractions in the form of various sporting contests, crafts, and other amusements, here supplemented with a top-notch medieval knight show on horseback and rides in Hummer off-road vehicles on a special course.
Everyone could not only ride in the back of the legendary Hummer H-1, but also drive the Hummer H-2 themselves. No wonder there was a constant long queue of enthusiasts at the starting point. Especially from the male contingent.
A fire for roasting sausages was burning throughout the event, and despite the forecast, the weather turned out splendidly. Those who came from further away certainly had no regrets either. This was the fourth time World Hemophilia Day was commemorated in our country, but this time with the highest attendance ever.
