Petr Slunský - Laureate of the Czech Hemophilia Society Annual Award 2023

Petr Slunský is among the people with hemophilia who were present at the founding of the Czech Hemophilia Society. In addition to his long-standing membership on the Council, he also served for several years as its secretary and treasurer. After ending his Council membership, he became a member of the Audit Committee, which he chaired for many years. Although he is no longer an official, he is by no means indifferent to what happens in the hemophilia community and our organisation. He attends practically all events organised by the Society.

Most of us know Petr by his nickname "Medvěd" (Bear). It is hard to say how it came about. Whether because of his build or his character. Given his caution about taking an extra step, we sometimes tell him that he is still in hibernation. Considering his seventy-odd years, that is quite understandable. And from this perspective alone, it is to his credit that he still meets with us and is thus a role model for younger people with hemophilia.

Petr, we trust that you will continue to meet with us for many years to come. We thank you for all the work you have dedicated to the organisation and to people with hemophilia. Thanks to your cheerful nature, we enjoy your company, and it will be our pleasure if you continue to show us your goodwill. We wish you abundant health, vitality, and a smile on your face.
