Podcast - Haemophilia Without Fear

A conversation about how haemophilia affects the daily lives of patients and their families. Experiences are shared by Katka Altmanová, chairwoman of Hemojunior, and Martin Bohůn, chairman of the Czech Haemophilia Society – both have lived with haemophilia in their families for generations. A friendly conversation full of hope, practical advice and personal stories awaits you.

Life with haemophilia has changed significantly in recent years. New treatment options bring patients and their families greater freedom, a chance for an active life and better management of everyday situations. In this episode of the "Na vlastní žíly" podcast, which is part of the Liberate Life project, we bring you an interview with two people who not only know haemophilia well, but help others cope with this diagnosis every day.

Katka Altmanová, chairwoman of Hemojunior and mother of two children, openly shares personal experiences and stories of other families. Martin Bohůn, chairman of the Czech Haemophilia Society, describes what it was like to grow up and live with severe haemophilia in the past and what enormous progress modern treatment has brought in the Czech Republic and Europe.

What will you learn in the episode and why not miss it?

  • How properly set up treatment can significantly improve quality of life, enable children to go to kindergarten, school and play sports.
  • Why the involvement of the whole family and sharing experiences with other patients and experts is crucial today.
