Podcast about Living with Von Willebrand Disease

Today we bring you a special episode in which we won't be focusing directly on hemophilia, but on another bleeding disorder - Von Willebrand disease.

Our guest, Mrs Jana Kalábová, has personal experience with this condition, which she discusses with Michal Bereň, the experienced host of our show. This disease is sometimes called the "little sister of hemophilia," which hints at its relatedness but also its distinctiveness from hemophilia. Jana, as a patient with the most severe form of Von Willebrand disease, will give us insight into what it is like to live with this condition, how it affects everyday life, and how it is treated.

In the interview with Jana, we will learn not only about the challenges associated with Von Willebrand disease, but also about how the condition affects life from childhood to adulthood. From complicated diagnostics, through struggles with everyday activities, to joys and achievements. Jana will share her journey with us and give us a unique look into a world where courage and determination play an important role.

This episode is not only educational for the general public, but also a source of inspiration and strength for those dealing with Von Willebrand disease. Together with Jana, we will also look at the importance of proper treatment, support from patient organisations, and the invaluable role of mutual understanding and sharing experiences within the community.
