Seventh CSH and Hemojunior Gala Evening at Hotel Juliš

On Saturday 14 February, the seventh annual gala evening of the Czech Haemophilia Society and Hemojunior took place, this time at Hotel Juliš on Wenceslas Square in Prague. Approximately 80 guests attended the event.

This year's event was held once again in a new setting — after previous years at the Alcron and Marriott hotels, we gathered this time at Hotel Juliš in Prague.

The four-star Hotel Juliš is located at the lower end of Wenceslas Square and is one of the functionalist landmarks of this part of Prague. The Juliš Palace was built in 1933, designed by architect Pavel Janák. Some may also remember the hotel by its former name, Hotel Tatran. The hall itself has a rich history — during the First Republic, it housed a dance café where the Melody Boys orchestra of R. A. Dvorský regularly performed.

Approximately 80 guests attended the gala evening, including members of both organisations as well as our partners and sponsors. The entire evening was marked by a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Singer Teri Štěpánová provided musical entertainment for dancing and listening throughout the programme. Guests enjoyed each other's company, dancing, and conversation — it was a pleasure to meet again after a year.

The programme included a raffle, refreshments, and the presentation of the annual Czech Haemophilia Society Award. This year, the award was presented to our long-standing member Zdeněk Březina. We also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the founding of Hemojunior, symbolically marked by a cake prepared by the Hemojunior leadership. Throughout the evening, photographs from our past events were projected on screen, bringing back many shared memories.

We would like to thank the management of Hotel Juliš, in particular Director Dvořák, and the hotel staff for their cooperation. Our thanks also go to Lenka Vykouková of Výzdoba Studio Moments, Vinařství Vyhňák winery, the family-run Pivovar u Hušků brewery, and everyone who contributed prizes for the raffle. Among the main prizes were accommodation vouchers, electronics, and other gifts.

Finally, special thanks go to Katka Altmanová and her family, who once again bore the main burden of the preparations. In a demanding and time-constrained period, she managed to organise everything meticulously, ensuring an environment in which guests felt welcome. Her dedication, willingness, and energy should not be taken for granted, and we all greatly appreciate the work she has done for us over the years. Thanks are also due to her family for their support and behind-the-scenes help — without their collaboration, the evening would not have been possible.

The seventh gala evening once again confirmed that this tradition has a firm place in our community, and we are already looking forward to the next one.
