Haematology Elite to Gather in Prague

Bleeding disorders may not be among the most widespread diseases, but they play a significant role in medicine. If only because society spends considerable financial resources on their diagnosis and treatment. Worldwide, only about 25% of patients receive adequate care, and the Czech Republic is among the best in Europe in this regard. And Europe leads the world, as other continents -- with the exception of North America -- fare considerably worse.

The European Haemophilia Consortium, based in Brussels, operates on the old continent, bringing together national federations similar to the Czech Hemophilia Society. It organises an annual conference, and this time the honour of hosting it fell to the Czech Republic. The Czech Hemophilia Society will host approximately 400 delegates from all member countries and additional guests from overseas in Prague from 26 to 28 October. The congress will take place at the Prague Marriott Hotel and will bring together the true scientific elite of Europe.

There is no other genetically determined disease whose diagnosis and treatment have undergone such rapid development over the past 25 years. And a congress like this always brings a wealth of new findings. Czech experts will also have the opportunity to present their research, with a number of lectures prepared.

The congress was held under the patronage of the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic, Mr Leos Heger, and the Mayor of the Capital City of Prague, Mr Bohuslav Svoboda.
