Vaclav Toth - Laureate of the Czech Hemophilia Society Annual Award 2022

Starting in 2009, the CSH Council decided to bestow its Annual Award. The holder of the annual award was chosen by the Council based on nominations. The Annual Award is an expression of recognition and gratitude from the haemophilia community to the person who has contributed the most through help, ideas, performed an exceptional deed, or conversely has worked for a long time on behalf of those in need. The laureate can be anyone from among healthcare workers, members, sponsors, representatives of official institutions, supporters -- simply anyone who, through their extraordinary achievement or long-term effort, deserves the gratitude of the Society and its members.

Past recipients include: MUDr. Zdena Vorlova, Frantisek Vondryska, Michal Stastny, Veronika Cepelakova, Vladimir Dolejs, and Silvie Berenova.

The laureate of the annual award for 2021 is Mr Vaclav Toth, former economist of the Czech Hemophilia Society. Vaclav "guarded" the Society's treasury almost since its founding. He managed the accounting and economic agenda of the Society very conscientiously, supported its activities with his opinions and ideas. He participated in the preparation of numerous grants, applications, and financial reports -- in short, everything that economic administration requires. And he did so with great precision. With his boundless patience, willingness, and open heart, he was a pillar of support for all his colleagues on the CSH Council for several years. Whenever his health allowed even a little, he always lent a hand to the common cause and attended various Society events. His lifelong optimistic outlook on the world can serve as an example for all of us. Vaclav, we all sincerely wish you that your zest for life and "fighting spirit" in all your difficulties, especially health-related ones, never leave you. Remember that our doors are always open to you, and whenever you want or need anything, you can turn to us.
