Jihlava Intergenerational Meeting Accompanied by the CSH Conference

The autumn period has always been marked by preparations for the Intergenerational Meeting in previous years. It fosters mutual understanding, respect, breaks down barriers and prejudices, but above all brings joy regardless of age. Both organisations — the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior — have decided to invite all members to Jihlava again, from 26 to 28 November. Despite the not overly optimistically developing situation and in light of new anti-epidemic measures, we firmly believe that we will ultimately meet face to face. The EA Business Hotel will once again provide us with a venue, where the CSH Conference with the election of new leadership will also take place at the conclusion of the Intergenerational Meeting. It goes without saying how important this event is, and therefore we would like to invite all of you most cordially. For those of you who will not be able to attend the Intergenerational Meeting, we would like to note that the CSH Conference is planned for Sunday, 28 November, starting at 9:00 AM.

For several years now, intergenerational meetings have been organised by both organisations with the aim of helping people navigate everything related to haemophilia and von Willebrand disease.\ We are preparing everything for 26–28 November at the EA Business Hotel in Jihlava.\ The main programme is traditionally scheduled for Saturday. The hotel's conference facilities and lounges for group and individual meetings will be at our disposal. From the programme we can promise podoscope demonstrations — foot examinations, vein care, talks about healthy nutrition, and many other interesting topics. We are also trying to secure the attendance of a representative from the Body ID bracelet manufacturer. A programme for both younger and older children will also be provided.

Information will be presented by experts from the fields of haematology, psychology, physiotherapy, and nutritional science. We will also touch on the topic of life and accident insurance. A programme will be prepared for adolescent participants as well. The benefit of this event is the opportunity to meet with experts outside the official setting of consulting rooms — in a friendly conversation.

All registered participants will receive a form well in advance that will allow them to choose a specific workshop or individual consultation. We will also publish the programme after all speakers have confirmed their attendance.

Take advantage of this opportunity. So far, all these meetings have been very successful and, most importantly, have produced results. You can register now using this form, no later than 10 November 2021. Due to the limited hotel capacity, it is possible that some of us will be accommodated at another nearby hotel. In practice, however, this will only affect sleeping arrangements — the entire programme will be held at a single location. Do not hesitate to register — it may happen that once the capacity is full, we will have to stop accepting registrations!

Participation fees have been set as follows: members of the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior pay CZK 500/night, non-members CZK 1,000/night, children of members up to 18 years attend for free, children of non-members CZK 500/night. CSH and Hemojunior members who will not be staying overnight at the hotel and will only attend the Saturday professional programme pay CZK 200, non-members CZK 400, children of members up to 18 years attend for free, children of non-members pay CZK 200. Please note that for the purposes of this event, only those members who regularly and promptly pay their membership fees are considered members. For Hemojunior, the rule for this event is that parents of children under 18 are also considered members. The participation fee includes all-day refreshments.

The entire event will be held in strict compliance with the anti-epidemic measures in effect at the time. There is therefore a possibility that the measures in force may not allow us to hold the event in its planned form at all — in such a case, we will prepare an alternative online programme. Therefore, please do not pay the participation fees to our account yet; we will ask you to pay only one week before the event takes place.

All participants are required to present, upon arrival, one of the certificates as per the Ministry of Health regulations for accommodation facilities, regardless of whether you are attending only the Saturday programme or the Sunday CSH Conference without accommodation!

In this regard, we would like to inform all those who will attend the Jihlava meeting that the leaders of the Czech Hemophilia Society and Hemojunior have agreed, together with the hotel operator, to test every participant for Covid-19 upon arrival, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not. We want to prevent complications that could subsequently arise for all participants and the hotel operator.

Invitation to the CSH Conference

Dear members of the Czech Hemophilia Society,

We cordially invite you to the annual electoral Conference of the society. It will take place on Sunday, 28 November, at the conclusion of the Intergenerational Meeting at the EA Business Hotel in Jihlava, Havlíčkova 5625/28, 586 01. We expect to begin at 9:00 AM. Sunday lunch will be provided for conference participants.

Proposed programme:

  • Opening
  • Activity report
  • Financial report
  • Audit committee report
  • Discussion
  • Elections to the Council and Audit Committee of the CSH
  • Other business

We ask all those who intend to attend the conference to confirm their interest by Tuesday, 10 November 2021, via the registration form. Please provide your first and last name (and membership number if applicable) and a contact email address or phone number.

The Conference is the highest body of the Czech Hemophilia Society, and this time it is also an electoral one, meaning a new CSH Council will be formed. This council will lead the society for the next four-year term. Candidacy can be submitted directly on site, but it is more advantageous to notify the current council in advance so that the important elections can be prepared thoroughly and on time. Please do so again by email to info@hemofilici.cz, or by phone at 723 487 239.

The annual Conference meets according to the statutes at longer intervals, making it extraordinarily important. Come and help decide on the future direction of the society. After all, it concerns you and your interests! Every member who fulfils the obligations arising from the CSH statutes regarding regular membership may attend the CSH Conference.
