Social Support for People with Haemophilia

Social support for people with haemophilia in the Czech Republic: disability cards, care allowances, parking permits and disability pensions.

Overview of social support

People with disabilities, including those with haemophilia, may encounter various difficult social situations in life. The social protection system in the Czech Republic provides people with bleeding disorders a range of tools — from disability cards through care allowances to disability pensions. The scope of entitlements depends on the degree of disability and its impact on everyday life.

We have prepared a social essentials guide that should help you with basic orientation in common social situations — what you can apply for if needed, where to turn, and what you may need.

Disability card

The TP, ZTP or ZTP/P card is the basic document proving a disability. It entitles the holder to a number of benefits in transport, tax payments and other areas. The card is issued by the Labour Office of the Czech Republic based on an assessment by a medical examiner.

Benefits for persons with disabilities

People with disabilities can apply for a mobility allowance, a special aid allowance and other benefits. The amount and scope of benefits depends on the degree of disability and the individual needs of the applicant.

Parking permit

Holders of a ZTP or ZTP/P card are entitled to mark their vehicle with an O7 parking permit, which allows parking in reserved spaces and other traffic benefits.

Care allowance

The care allowance is intended for people who, due to a long-term unfavourable health condition, need the help of another person in managing basic life needs. It is granted at four levels of dependency.

Disability pensions

A disability pension may be received by people whose working capacity has decreased as a result of a health disability. Three degrees of disability are distinguished based on the degree of reduction in working capacity.
