Podcast with Jindřich Sitta

When Jindřich Sitta suggested at one of the Hemojunior patient organisation meetings that he would like to host experiential stays for fathers and sons with hemophilia on his family farm, he did not receive much understanding from the female members present. However, the pilot year was so successful that mothers now willingly sign up their sons and husbands for the weekend camps themselves.

Hemophilia entered Jindřich Sitta's life shortly after his son Jindra was born. When doctors' suspicions were confirmed that the cause of the boy's frequent bruising was indeed hemophilia, it was a shock for the Sitta couple - nobody in the family had previously been diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder. Only subsequent investigation revealed that the disease was passed on to little Jindra by his mother, and that their daughter Barbora is also a carrier. Jindřich and his family faced a great challenge: coming to terms with hemophilia and the lifestyle adjustments it entails.
