Come to Lednice
06/03/2013This year's rehabilitation retreat for adult hemophilia patients will again take place in Lednice, at practically the same time as last year, from 17 to 25 May. Due to the high interest in the stay in previous years, we ask you to register as soon as possible. We apologize in advance if we are unable to accommodate all applicants, as the facility capacity is 30 persons.

Hemophilia Ball in Slovakia
24/02/2013This year marks the thirteenth time that the "Slovak Hemophilia Association" (Slovenské hemofilické združenie) organised a formal hemophilia ball. This event, with a tradition spanning over a decade, aims primarily to bring members together in a relaxed, non-work atmosphere and foster friendly meetings among all supporters of Slovak hemophilia patients. Despite the unfavourable flu season, over 60 attendees participated in the ball, including hemophilia patients themselves, parents, friends of hemophilia patients, and those who simply enjoy the atmosphere and organisation of this event.

Hemophilia and Living with It
08/01/2013Do specialized centers help hemophilia patients cope with their condition? In November, a survey of people with hemophilia was conducted as part of a student project. Data collection, during which hemophilia patients could respond to our questions, took place from 1 to 30 November, both via an online questionnaire and in printed form directly at hematology departments.

Interested in How You Live?
20/12/2012That probably interests everyone, and from a unique survey you can learn how life is for haemophilia patients in the Czech Republic. At least for those who anonymously answered a few simple questions. The Czech Hemophilia Society prepared an extensive questionnaire campaign last year, the results of which revealed a number of very interesting findings. We have been reporting on them continuously in both the Newsletter and on the website.

Law on the Transformation of Civic Associations
07/12/2012The law on the transformation of civic associations into public benefit corporations has headed to the Senate. The new law, which the Chamber of Deputies approved today, will closely affect our association as well. For non-profit organisations, the legal form of civic associations has been disadvantageous given their activities, for example in the social sphere, but until now they had no option to adopt a different legal form without losing their history.

Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy at the EHC Congress
26/11/2012The orthopaedic and physiotherapy session, chaired by MUDr. Jan Blatný, included lectures on Radiosynovectomy (MUDr. Petr Teyssler, Czech Republic), Physiotherapy (Natasa Jankovic, Serbia) and Orthopaedic Insoles (MUDr. Petr Teyssler, Czech Republic). In the first of the mentioned lectures, the presenter introduced the history of synovectomy and spoke about the advantages of radiosynovectomy compared to surgical solutions (e.g. the possibility of application in patients with inhibitors). The discussion after the lecture touched on the topic of repeating radionuclide application into the same joint, which is possible up to three times.
