    Statement on Pandemic Vaccination

    11/03/2021

Vaccination against COVID-19 is the most pressing topic of recent months. Statements have been issued by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH), the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD), the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC), and the National Hemophilia Foundation of the United States (NHF). The statement applies to persons over 18 years of age; for younger individuals, we continue to monitor developments and studies.

Adult Rehabilitation Retreat — This Time in the Vysočina Region

    26/01/2021

As we hinted in the article recapping the last retreat, we are once again changing the location. This time not for capacity reasons, but due to insufficient service and failure to meet conditions on the part of the operator. We did not have many options and opted for Hotel Bystré in the Vysočina region, not far from Polička. Hopefully, this time we have chosen correctly. The communication so far and a visit to the hotel suggest we have. We will once again have the entire hotel at our disposal, with 20 rooms and a total capacity of approximately 50 people. We will have free access to a saltwater pool, and a whirlpool, sauna, fitness room, and common room will also be available. Full board will be provided as before. And rehabilitation will of course not be missing either.

If the situation permits, we would like to hold the traditional children's haemophilia camp again this year. Below you will find information about prices and registration. ATTENTION, DATE CHANGE! The camp will take place from 21 to 31 August 2021 at the well-known Zubří Recreation Centre near Nové Město na Moravě. You can look forward to the proven team of counsellors and medical staff from previous years; Michael Bereň takes over the camp leadership baton and will be the head counsellor from next year onwards.

    Greece 2021

    05/01/2021

Although the times are uncertain, we try not to perceive them as such and are preparing events for 2021 with the belief that they will take place. One of them is a trip abroad. In the summer of 2020 it did not work out, yet most of those originally registered decided to take up the offer to go a year later. We now have this offer for you as well. The destination remains the same — the Lardos Bay hotel on the Greek island of Rhodes. It is a flight (from Prague) soft all-inclusive trip scheduled from 8 July with return on 16 July in the early morning hours. More details can be found here (link: https://www.dotramtarie.cz/detail-zajezdu/lardos-bay/118712a/215171073d?sm=1#fi-dm=7&fi-du=2&fi-ai=1&fi-lm=0).

Parking Card as Motorway Vignette Continues

    06/12/2020

You are increasingly asking us about the situation with motorway vignettes from 1 January 2021 for holders of parking cards and ZTP or ZTP/P disability cards. Currently, we use the parking card also as a motorway vignette. It can be used in any vehicle, but only in the presence of the card holder.

Autumn Rehabilitation Retreat for Adults Took Place in the Třeboň Region

    02/12/2020

Due to spring government restrictions, we were forced to postpone the rehabilitation retreat for adult hemophilia patients to the turn of summer and autumn. Just before departure, we were once again worried whether everything would take place and under what conditions. In the end, however, almost everything worked out. The change of date and health complications of some registrants meant we did not fill the facility's capacity and did not beat last year's record in the number of participants. Even so, 40 people is a very respectable number. Nearly half were hemophilia or Von Willebrand patients. And if we include carriers in the count of hemophilia patients, we exceeded the halfway mark.

Success in a Time of Crisis

    15/10/2020

Even in difficult times, good news occurs, and we are pleased to bring information about a major success of the Czech Hemophilia Society. After long-term efforts, the Society managed to fulfil one of its key objectives -- with the support of the Czech Haematological Society and the Czech National Haemophilia Programme, the Czech Society for Emergency Medicine and Disaster Medicine issued an Interdisciplinary Statement on the Approach to Patients with Haemophilia and von Willebrand Disease in Pre-Hospital Care.
